Cardiology

Cardiology is the medical specialty that deals with the heart and vascular system.  This branch of medicine deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart diseases.  Cardiologists diagnose diseases and determine appropriate treatment plans using a variety of tests and imaging methods that evaluate the function of the cardiovascular system.

Diseases frequently encountered in the field of cardiology include coronary artery disease (blockage of heart vessels), heart failure, heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmia), heart valve diseases and congenital heart anomalies.  Cardiologists may perform treatment methods such as medication, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, surgical interventions such as heart valve surgeries, or implantation of a pacemaker.  Cardiology, as an important medical branch, is of great importance in protecting heart health and diagnosing and treating heart diseases early.  In this way, it is possible to improve the cardiovascular health of patients and increase their quality of life.  Cardiologists play an important role in heart health by working with patient-oriented and scientifically based approaches in the fight against heart diseases.
